New Banner Dedicated at service Tamlaght O’Crilly Upper Church
Sir Knights from Coleraine and Ballymena and from the R.B.P. Districts in South Derry attended the annual church service of the Tamlaght O’Crilly Preceptory on Sunday afternoon last.
The service was held in Tamlaght O’Crilly Upper Parish Church and was conducted by the rector, the Reverend James Miller.
During the service Mr Miller dedicated the new banner, bought by the Tamlaght O’Crilly Preceptory.
The special preacher was the Reverend T.A.B. Sawyers, rector of Lissan, Cookstown.
Sir Knight T. Kinney, the Preceptory Chaplain, read the scripture lesson, and a special anthem was sung by the choir, Mrs A. Bell, the church organist, presiding at the organ.
The imposing procession, which moved off from Drumard Primary School, was led by Tamlaght O’Crilly Pipe Band. The visitors were welcomed at the church by the Tamlaght O’Crilly Sir Knights.
After the service, the Sir Knights, walking behind the new banner, paraded back to the assembly point, where the Deputy Master, Sir Knight Irwin Michael, moved a general vote of thanks, especially to the visiting Sir Knights and to the clergy who took part.
